Maria Elena is a Payroll Service Specialist with Global Business Advisors in the Payroll & Compensation Services division. She enjoys working with numbers and is responsible for processing payroll and handling requests for her assigned clients.

For more than 30 years, Maria Elena has been a bookkeeper in the accounting field. She joined the GBA team in 2023 where she also serves on the firm’s Sunshine Committee, which manages internal celebrations.

Before her role with GBA, Maria Elena served as a bookkeeper and office administrator at a law firm in Edinburg, Texas. Previously, she was a payroll specialist in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley, and a Certificate of Completion in Computerized Accounting and Data Entry from Texas State Technical College in Harlingen, Texas.

Maria Elena has two grown sons. In her free time, she enjoys finding new recipes and baking from scratch, watching sports, spending quality time with family, and shopping—especially for purses and shoes.
